Scouts NSW - 1st South Penrith Scout Group
Scouts Survival Skills Hall Camp
Details
Event information
Activity Overview
This camp will have a survival twist. The Scouts can opt to focus on their bushcraft survival skills by building a shelter to sleep in overnight or their camping cooking skills by preparing a three course meal using camp cooking equipment. The Scouts will meet at Southlands to select their food for dinner and breakfast and we will then make our way to the hall. The Scouts will prepare and eat their meals and then organise their sleeping accomodations, either in shelters in the back yard or on stretchers in the hall. Pick up will be from the hall in the morning.
Clothing & Equipment
Scouts should wear their uniform, scarf and enclosed shoes. They may have a hike pack with additional comfortable, warm clothes, a sleeping bag, and sleep mat, shelter materials and cooking equipment. The Scouts should also pack their water bottle, raincoat and headtorch.
Some additional material for shelters may also be provided from supplies in the hall.
If the Scouts wish to sleep on a stretcher in the hall, this should be brought to the hall on the Thursday night before the hall camp.
