Activity Overview

Lachlan is planning his adventurous journey and Scouts and Venturers are invited to register for his Patrol.

Lachlan's Paddling Journey will take place in the October holidays. 

The Patrol participants will meet at 1st South Penrith Scout Hall and will car pool to the launchpoint at Berowra Waters Boat Ramp.

The Patrol will camp at campgrounds along Berrowra Creek and will return to Berowra Waters Boat Ramp before car pooling back to 1st South Penrith Scout Hall.

Two Leaders will be following the Patrol in canoes throughout the journey.

Clothing & Equipment

The Scouts will need to prepare for a lightweight, two night overnight paddle. 

All members should wear clothes that can get wet, such as a rashie and shorts for paddling during the day and pack clothes to change into of an evening. 

They must wear enclosed shoes, such as old sneakers or water shoes. NO CROCS OR THONGS.

Scouts should have a hike tent and bring their own food and water. 

Drybags, PFDs and canoes will be provided by the Group. 

Travel Arrangements

Parents to transport to and from the Scout Hall. Car pooling by parents and or Leaders from the Scout Hall to Berowra Waters Boat Ramp and return.

  • This activity will be conducted under indirect adult supervision. Both male and female leaders will be present.
